Rebirthing became popular in the transformational social movements of the late 1970s, reaching its peak in the 80s. People were looking for an experience and they were paying thousands of dollars for that peak experience, something that would be a solution to their lives.
In the fall of 1988 and throughout the winter and spring of 1989, Yogi Bhajan began offering his own series of Rebirthing Courses. Powerfully transformative experiences that were self-initiated–not dependent on anyone else.
He wanted people to recognize their own capacity.
He wanted people to give birth to their own destiny, their own reality–Sat Nam.
